Harry poppins - Mrs. Doubtfire Reviews
Is there anything more funny than a guy in drag? Well, yeah. There are funnier things, but "Mrs. Doubtfire" charms and humors the audience without ever becoming boring.
Daniel Hillard (Robin Williams) has just quit his job as a voice actor. He is so carefree that he forgets that he has a family to support.
Daniel's wife, Miranda (Sally Field), decides enough is enough after he has an impromptu birthday bash for his son. The final verdict is that the kids can see their father on certain days.
That just isn't good enough for Danny. He signs up to become the children's babysitter, but in disguise. He is now the warm looking and kindhearted Mrs. Doubtfire.
Mrs. Doubtfire wins the hearts of Miranda and her children. Danny's making money off of babysitting for the kids he loves and some cash from his other job. His home is more and more presentable, and he can cook! Everything is going great. That is, until Miranda finds a new boyfriend (Pierce Brosnan)...
It's sad that this is one of Robin Williams's more memorable roles. People should look into his great performances in "Awakenings," "The Fisher King," and "Good Will Hunting," for which he won an Academy Award.
If any of you freaks enjoy drag comedies, then this movie is definitely for you. Two of the crossdressing comedies I've seen, besides "Mrs. Doubtfire," are "Some Like It Hot" and "Tootsie." Both of those films are classics and are highly recommended.
